March 2015 Family Update

Family News Prayer

NLMar15_02Dear Friends,

God continues, of course, to bless and encourage us in many ways, and we hope our letters to you encourage you as you take part through your financial gifts and/or prayer in all God is doing here in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On 7th March Hadassah turned 6, despite struggling with her asthma that day she enjoyed herself and had fun being made a fuss of at playgroup when she returned. She will be starting school this September and is very much looking forward to it.

Praise God for our beautiful Hadassah, and the way she is growing and developing. (She often amazes us with the maturity of some of the things she says.)

NLMar15_03Since 10th March we have had Emily staying with us. She is working with Novi Most for 3 months during her gap year and staying with us for the first month of that. She has fitted in really well with us, Hadassah in particular has loved having someone whose not too busy to play board games with, and Emily has barely to sit down before Hadassah is asking for a game. She is also coping really well with the craziness of the house. Just this morning she was cleaning her teeth when Izak came running in to the bathroom to use the toilet (he’s potty training) and she happily copes with it.

Please pray for Emily, that she would continue to be a blessing to others during her time in BiH and that she would be blessed by God during this time.

NLMar15_04Our immediate Boss, Indira, gave birth to her son, David, on 4th March, he was a month early but is doing well. Her husband, Mario, works in Klub, so to cover his paternity leave Adam has been working in Klub more the last couple of weeks.

Please pray for Indira, Mario, Ema and David as they settle into life as a family of 4, and that David would continue to develop and grow well.

NLMar15_05Young people and leaders from Klub, OC and Čapljina (3 of our sites) all went on a trip to Počitelj and Mogorjelo. They had an excellent time and the young people mixed well.

NLMar15_07 Rachel’s Craft and English group continues to go well. There are a total of 12 girls split over 2 groups, most of whom come each time. They continue to be enthusiastic, and recently one expressed how good it is to have the group as there is so little else to do in the village. Most families can’t afford to send their children to clubs in town. Recently we were given a gift of English books (Thanks Ali) some of which Rachel is using as a library for the group, another way in which they can practice their English.

NLMar15_06Please continue to pray for this group that the girls will continue to be keen to come and that Rachel will be able to express God’s love to them through the group. Also that it willbe able to continue passed it’s initial year plan.

In our last letter I asked for prayer for Ed and Monica, who were returning to America to care for Monica’s Mum who had been diagnosed with Terminal cancer. It was with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to them as they left last week.

NLMar15_08 NLMar15_09In the last few days her mother had taken a turn for the worst, deteriorating much quicker than expected, then at check in at the airport at the start of their long trip home, they tragically received the news that her mother had died.

Please pray for them as they deal not only with their grief but re-entry into their home culture following many years of service to God abroad.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support.

Love and God Bless

Adam, Rachel, Micah, Talitha, Ezekiel, Hadassah and Izak.
